Mission

The mission of the Research Institute "STU-ENGINEERING" is to conduct scientific research, provide expert engineering services, and develop digital and AI solutions.

General Information about the Research Institute

Emblem 2023

In the anniversary year of 2023, marking the 70th anniversary of the Abylkas Saginov Karaganda Technical University, due to the expansion of the activities of the departmental scientific and technical centers (STC), a decision was made to open the STC "STU-ENGINEERING". Oyum Temirgaliyevich Balabayev (Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor in "Transport, Mining and Construction Engineering") was appointed as the Head of the STC.

Emblem 2026

In September 2026, the Board of the NJSC "Abylkas Saginov Karaganda Technical University" made a decision on the early transformation of the Scientific and Technical Center "STU-ENGINEERING" into the Research Institute "STU-ENGINEERING" (RI). Oyum Temirgaliyevich Balabayev (Candidate of Technical Sciences, Professor) was approved as the Head of the RI.

The RI creates a unique ecosystem where the teaching staff and students (doctoral, master's, and undergraduate students) are actively involved not only in scientific research projects but also in real expert engineering work. This ensures a "seamless" integration of theory and practice, facilitating the training of highly qualified personnel of the new generation. Today, the RI represents a team of highly qualified specialists, including Doctors and Candidates of Technical Sciences, PhDs, Masters of Sciences, design engineers, project engineers, and process engineers.

The RI helps bridge the gap between scientific ideas and their practical implementation, minimizing risks and accelerating the introduction of innovations. By collaborating with the RI, our partners gain access to advanced academic knowledge, modern technologies, and expertise, which allows them to optimize processes, reduce costs, and increase competitiveness.

The main objectives of the RI "STU-ENGINEERING" are:

1
organizing and conducting fundamental, theoretical, and applied research
2
organizing and performing research, design, engineering, survey, and expert work, as well as providing expert engineering services
3
developing new equipment, technologies, and information systems
4
commercializing the results of scientific activities
5
training trainees according to standard and individually developed programs; professional development and internships
6
developing the material, technical, scientific, and methodological base
7
expanding international ties and scientific contacts with scientists from leading universities and research centers
8
organizing and holding seminars and scientific conferences
