The Patent and Design Bureau (PDB) is a structural subdivision of the STC «STU-ENGINEERING» that ensures the protection of intellectual property, the development of innovative technical solutions, and design activities. The PDB deals with the registration of patents, copyrights, and trademarks, as well as the conduct of scientific research and design-engineering works, including the creation of drawings and technical specifications. The PDB combines patent work with design developments aimed at innovation in science and technology, with an emphasis on the protection of intellectual property and the practical implementation of ideas. The PDB promotes the commercialization of scientific achievements by ensuring legal protection of inventions, technologies, and software products within the activities of the STC.

Main functions of the PDB:

- Registration of patents: preparation of documents and submission of applications for patenting inventions, utility models, and industrial designs, including examination and support of the registration process;

- Registration of copyright certificates: for works of science, literature, etc. – collection and submission of materials for copyright registration of scientific works, articles, monographs, and other intellectual products, with the receipt of appropriate certificates; trademarks, logos, etc. – development and registration of trademarks, logos, and other branding elements as copyright objects, ensuring their legal protection; computer programs (calculation programs, electronic textbooks, mobile applications, etc.) – preparation and registration of computer programs, including calculation modules, electronic textbooks, and mobile applications, with the receipt of copyright certificates;

- Development of new equipment and technologies: creation of innovative technical solutions and technologies based on scientific research, taking into account modern requirements for efficiency and safety;

- Execution of scientific-research and design-engineering works: conducting comprehensive research and design projects, including analysis, modeling, and prototyping to solve applied problems in the scientific-technical sphere;

- Development of drawings for conceptual, technical, and working projects in applied programs AutoCAD, KOMPAS, Corel, etc.: creation of graphic documentation, including sketches, technical and working drawings, using specialized software for accurate implementation of design ideas;

- Preparation of technical specifications for the development of new equipment and technologies: preparation of detailed technical specifications that define goals, requirements, stages, and criteria for the development of innovative equipment and technologies within the STC.
